Step back in time and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Wild West. Many people don't realize the rich history of the Mammoth Cave Region. It is a well known legend that Jesse James robbed one of the local banks in South Central Kentucky and hid out in one of the area caves. Come see a re-creation of the famous gunfights of the "Old West" in the streets of our Wild West town.

Guntown Mountain is an authentic re-creation of a wild west town from the days of the frontier. Those were wild days, and the scene hasn't changed at Guntown Mountain. Stroll into the Saloon Show and watch the area's prettiest dancers. Maybe you will want to take in a magic show from the best illusionist in Kentucky. Of course, live country/western music is always in abundance in our music theatre.

There's more to do further down the mountain. Check out the Haunted House, and more. We also have Onyx Cave, the newest cave discovery in the area, on Guntown Mountain.

Before you leave don't forget to stop by Smith's Country Store. This folksy store has been a legend in the area since 1906. They feature the best country ham that you'll ever taste as well as bacon and the area's famous Smoked Sausage. There are also jams, jellies, preserves, and homemade relishes from the area - now that's some good eatin'! The gift shop features a large selection of gifts and souvenirs. Be sure to take home a little bit of Kentucky!
